SUPER 7 CONNOISSEUR, Vari-Speed, belt driven, back geared, screw cutting, bench mounting, centre lathe - 89mm (3.1/2") centre height x 475mm (18.3/4") or 780mm (30.3/4") between centres, with Headstock spindle bored 26mm to clear 25.4mm (1") and incorporating a safe reversing feature. The spindle nose is precision bored and ground 4MT. Metric model with 2mm pitch cross slide and top slide feedscrews and nuts, metric graduations on the tailstock barrel and leadscrew handwheel. The bed is cast in grade 240 iron with Induction Hardened Bedways.

The lathe is fitted with a quick change screw cutting gearbox, which in conjunction with the 8TPI leadscrew gives 24 imperial/inch threads and 24 feeds; a thread dial indicator is fitted to the apron. (For metric, BA, odd threads and pitches, the optional 1481/1 Metric Conversion Kit will be required.

The machine is fitted with a countershaft clutch unit. A plain taper front headstock bearing supports the spindle in radial loading, while a pair of angular contact ball races at the rear provides support for axial loads. The spindle nose is threaded M42.5 x 2mm pitch. An indexing plunger can be engaged with the 60T bullwheel to provide simple indexing of the spindle, up to 120 divisions. Variable speed spindles from 26-3000rpm are achieved in three distinct speed ranges, by a two speed drive from countershaft to headstock spindle and a back gear reduction. Both primary and secondary drives are fitted with Poly-V belts. All drive guards are secured with ¼" turn latches opened by a special square drive key.

The carriage features power cross feed (facing), a tee slotted cross slide, and the top slide swivels 360°. Both cross slide and top slide feedscrews are fitted with adjustable micrometer dials. The cross slide feedscrew is fitted with a needle thrust bearing to increase sensitivity.

The tailstock is a self-ejecting type, and the barrel feedscrew has a 3 start thread to give rapid movement. The tailstock handwheel is fitted with an adjustable friction dial, having 60 divisions, reading 0.005" per division. A metric version is not available, but the equivalent per division is 0.127mm. The barrel is precision bored 2MT. The tailstock body can be set over on its base in either direction, to turn long, shallow tapers.

The drive is motorised by a 0.75kW (1hp), 230V, 3PH, 50/60Hz, resilient mounted, industrial rated motor. A separate enclosure houses the electrical installation which includes a lockable isolator, start and stop buttons, forward/reverse and run/jog selector switches, and a mushroom head emergency stop button with turn-to release.

Comes on the industrial stand. Reversing switch or Variable Speed Controller can be fitted

This used Diamond 10 lathe comes fitted with raising blocks, to an original ML10 cabinet. It also comes with the stop/start forward/reverse switch, which is already wired up to the motor.

This lathe comes fitted with the much sought-after leadscrew dog clutch. The leadscrew is a 5/8" x 3mm pitch leadscrew, and comes with the leadscrew handwheel and pointer (which has metric graduations).

The headstock features a backgear cluster system to reduce the feed rate (from 840rpm to 48rpm), making this lathe ideal for screwcutting. Different pitches and threads can be acheived by swapping the changewheels on the gear train. More information on this is available in the manual. The spindle is threaded 1 1/8" x 12TPI and bored 2MT. This particular lathe comes fitted with the newer taper roller bearing type spindle.

The tailstock comes fitted with an adjustable tailstock handwheel, allowing you to zero-reset the dial without moving the position of the tailstock barrel. The barrel itself is precision bored and ground 2MT.

The carriage features the long cross slide, and a top slide capable of swivelling a full 360°. The top slide and cross slide feedscrews are threaded 3/8" x 2mm pitch. The toolpost supplied with this lathe is the standard original clamp type toolpost, although a quick change toolpost is available for the series 10 lathes if you would prefer one.

SUPER 7 SIGMA PLUS, 14 speed, belt driven, backgeared, screwcutting, bench mounted, centre lathe - 89mm (3.1/2") centre height x 475mm (18.3/4") or 780mm (30.3/4") between centres, with Headstock spindle bored 26mm to clear 25.4mm (1") and incorporating a safe reversing feature. The spindle nose is precision bored and ground 4MT.. The lathe bed is cast in grade 240 iron.

The 8TPI leadscrew is driven by a standard train of changewheels which are set to give a longitudinal fine feed of 0093mm (0.0037") per spindle revolution. A further 8 loose changewheels may be used to vary the feed rates and to facilitate the screwcutting of many inch threads. Additional changewheels may be purchased to facilitate the screwcutting of odd threads and pitches (2 x 21T changewheels are required to cut metric pitches)

The machine is fitted with a countershaft clutch unit. A plain taper front headstock bearing supports the spindle in radial loading, while a pair of angular contact ball races at the rear provide support for axial loads, the spindle nose is threaded M42.5 x 2mm pitch. The bullwheel has 60 teeth, 14 spindle speeds, ranging from 27-2105rpm, which are achieved by a two-speed drive from the motor to countershaft, a four-speed drive from the countershaft to headstock spindle, and a backgear reduction.

All drive guards are secured with ¼" turn latches opened by a special square drive key. The carriage features power feed (facing), a tee slotted cross slide, and the top slide swivels 360°. Both cross slide and top slide feedscrews are fitted with adjustable micrometer dials.

The tailstock is a self-ejecting type, and the barrel feedscrew has a three start thread to give rapid movement. The barrel is precision bored 2MT. The tailstock body can be set over on its base in either direction to turn long shallow tapers.

The drive is motorized by a 0.55kW (3/4hp), 230V, 50Hz, single phase, resilient mounted motor. A separate enclosure houses the on-off starter, with reversing switch, no-volt release, thermal overload protection to the motor, and turn-to-release mushroom head stop button.

A separate enclosure houses the electrical installation which includes a lockable isolator, start and stop buttons, forward/reverse and run/jog selector switches, and a mushroom head emergency stop button with turn-to release.

The electronically controlled variable speed inverter control features no-volt release and thermal overload protection and only requires a 230V, 1PH, 50/60Hz power supply, with fuse protection of 10 amps from the customers supply. A 10 turn potentiometer gives sensitive speed control and is accompanied by an electronic tachometer with digital display. Power inlet is via a CEE 17 plug, with 3 metres H07 insulated cable, for 230V, 1PH, 50/60Hz AC supply.
